Michiyo Fujihara
Michiyo Fujihara was born in the Ancient city of Nara Japan. The rich artistic and architectural heritage of the city, as well as the treasured memories of her time spent there, continue to influence her work.
As early as high school, Michiyo aspired to be a photographer. At the Japan photographic College she studied commercial photography in order to focus on developing her technical skills. As her skills became more published, she felt herself developing away from purely commercial work and increasingly toward the creation of more personal, artistic photographic images.
Over the fifteen years Michiyo works has centered on four themes:
Illusion - These photographers explore the walking memories of our dreams.
Most of the pieces were completed between 1985 and 1988. In 1988 they were assembled into book from published in Japan.
Nudes - This group of images illustrates how we perceive the body from various perspectives of consciousness and spiritually. These photographs were made between 1989and 1991.
Sacred Places - These bodies of works speaks about the interaction between human beings and the forces of nature. It also represents the first time that she has used a computer paintbox in creating her images. This collection was published in 1993.
Gateway to the Gods (Tarot Card)
These arts works were created for the CD-ROM of the Tarot Card. It is the first collaboration with the poet is Mr. Meir. Z Ribalow.
